Hearts unblocked: play Hearts online free right here in your browser — no download, no sign-up, works on a school Chromebook.

Hearts is a celebrated four-player evasion card game where the primary goal is not winning tricks, but dodging penalty cards. Each player aims to keep their running total as low as possible across multiple hands while pushing dangerous suits into opponents' piles. A standard 52-card deck is dealt out evenly among four seats, setting up a tense balance between careful hand management and opportunistic discards.

Unlike trick-taking games that reward hoarding aces and kings, Hearts turns high cards into liabilities. Taking any trick containing a Heart adds penalty points to your score, while the dreaded Queen of Spades inflicts a massive point blow that can immediately swing a match. Every turn demands close attention to what has already been played, who is running low on specific suits, and when to dump high cards before you are forced to capture a loaded trick.

While Parking Fury is best known for precision vehicle handling and tight parking puzzles, this digital edition of Hearts provides a great strategic breather. It trades quick steering reflexes for tactical card counting and risk assessment, making it an ideal companion when you want a slower, more deliberate puzzle session in your browser.

How to play

At the start of each deal, you inspect your thirteen cards and select three to pass to an opponent according to the round rotation. Once passes are complete, the player holding the Two of Clubs leads the opening trick. Play proceeds clockwise around the table, and every participant must follow the led suit if they hold any matching cards.

If you cannot follow suit, you may discard any card from your hand, creating opportunities to unload troublesome high cards or ditch penalty points onto whoever takes the trick. The highest card in the led suit wins the cards and leads the next round. Hearts cannot be led until someone has broken hearts by discarding one during an earlier trick. The round concludes once all thirteen tricks are resolved, and points are tallied.

Scoring and shooting the moon

Scoring in Hearts is simple but unforgiving:

  • Hearts: Each heart card taken in a trick awards one penalty point.
  • Queen of Spades: The single most dangerous card in the deck, awarding thirteen penalty points.
  • Shooting the Moon: If a daring player manages to capture all thirteen hearts plus the Queen of Spades in a single deal, they score zero points while every opponent receives twenty-six penalty points.

Tips for keeping scores low

  • Void a suit early: Discard all cards from a short suit like diamonds or clubs as quickly as possible. Once void, any lead in that suit allows you to slough off heavy cards or point cards safely.
  • Handle high spades carefully: Holding the Ace or King of Spades is risky unless you also hold several low spades to protect them until the Queen of Spades has safely landed elsewhere.
  • Track the Queen of Spades: Always remember whether the Queen has been played. Once she is off the board, leading high spades becomes far safer.
  • Block moon shots: If an opponent begins sweeping every heart lead and takes the Queen of Spades early, sacrifice a trick to hold onto a single point card and break their sweep.

Questions about Hearts

Is Hearts unblocked at school?

Hearts runs in an ordinary browser tab from parkingfury.org, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.

What is the main objective in Hearts?

The goal is to finish with the fewest penalty points. Players try to avoid winning tricks that contain Hearts or the Queen of Spades, unless attempting to shoot the moon by collecting every single penalty card.

What happens when someone shoots the moon?

If a single player takes all thirteen hearts and the Queen of Spades in one round, they score zero points while assigning twenty-six penalty points to every other opponent at the table.

Can you lead with a Heart on the opening trick?

No. The player holding the two of clubs must lead the very first trick, and hearts cannot be led in later tricks until a heart has been broken by discarding one on an off-suit trick.

Do you need to download anything to play Hearts?

No download or account is required. The game runs directly in your desktop or mobile browser so you can start a quick match anytime.
